R&B megastar Chris Brown was taken into custody by Metropolitan Police in the early hours of Thursday over an alleged bottle attack dating back to February 19, 2023. He was tracked and arrested at The Lowry Hotel in Salford, just hours after landing in the UK by private jet for his ongoing “Breezy Bowl XX Tour.”

The arrest is linked to an incident that occurred at Tape, a high-end nightclub in Hanover Square, London. According to the Economic Times, the complaint was filed by Mr. Diaw, a music producer who claims Brown attacked him around 3 a.m., hitting him over the head with a bottle before repeatedly punching and kicking him while on the floor.

“He hit me over the head two or three times. My knee collapsed as well,” said Diaw, who was hospitalized and left using crutches after the incident.

The case is being investigated by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit. In addition to the criminal investigation, Mr. Diaw has filed a civil lawsuit, seeking $16 million (£12 million) in damages for physical and financial loss.

This development threatens to disrupt Brown’s upcoming UK tour dates, including back-to-back performances at Manchester’s Co-Op Live stadium and a stop at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. Brown had been touring to mark 20 years in music, with artists Summer Walker and Bryson Tiller billed as special guests.

As of now, Brown’s team has yet to release an official statement regarding the arrest or the lawsuit.
