Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has taken to social media to react after not receiving any award at the recently concluded Headies.
In a post shared via his Instagram Story, Portable expressed disappointment at being overlooked once again by the prestigious music awards.
"They no give us award, but God give us grace," he wrote, reflecting on what he believes is yet another snub by the industry.
Portable also revealed that he had been invited to perform at the Headies but was unable to attend the event because he was locked up for five days around the same time.
In a sarcastic tone, he asked in Yorùbá:
“Ṣé tí mo bá ti wà níbẹ, wọn ò ní fi award fún mi?”
(So even if I had shown up, I still wouldn’t have received an award?)
Despite the perceived slight, the singer said he remains thankful. Still speaking in Yorùbá, Portable noted that he has been making money, recently bought a new car, and feels blessed beyond industry recognition.
"No award, but blessings plenty. New car, new level."
