JAMB Releases 2025 UTME Results, Withholds 39,834 Over Exam Malpractice

he Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Friday released the long-awaited 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.

Speaking at the JAMB headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede confirmed that the results have been made available for candidates—except for 39,834 results that were seized over suspected irregularities and malpractice.

Ongoing Investigations Across States

“We have withheld 39,834 results due to various forms of suspected malpractice,” Oloyede disclosed.

He also revealed that around 80 candidates are under active investigation for exam-related offences, with Anambra State recording the highest number of suspects.

Next Steps for Candidates

Candidates who sat for the 2025 UTME can now check their results online via the JAMB result portal or through SMS.

Meanwhile, the withheld results will remain pending until investigations are concluded, and JAMB has urged affected candidates to remain patient as the board finalizes its review process.

A Warning for Future Candidates

The registrar emphasized JAMB’s zero-tolerance policy on malpractice, stating that the board will continue to use technology and surveillance to clamp down on exam fraud.

“Let this be a warning that JAMB will not hesitate to cancel results or prosecute candidates found guilty of malpractice,” he stated.
