PDP Submits Ezenwafor Jude and Okeke Chukwudi as Candidates for Anambra 2025 Governorship Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially put forward Ezenwafor Jude as its gubernatorial candidate and Okeke Chukwudi as his running mate for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election scheduled to hold on November 8, 2025.

The confirmation came in a letter dated May 7, 2025, addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and acknowledged as received on May 12, 2025, by the commission.

The letter, co-signed by PDP's Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, officially notified INEC of the results from the party’s primary election held in Anambra State—an exercise monitored by the commission.

“We write to inform the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that Ezenwafor Jude C. is the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) Gubernatorial Candidate for the November 08, 2025 Anambra State Gubernatorial Election, having emerged winner of the Party’s Gubernatorial Primary in Anambra State monitored by the Commission,” the statement read.

Furthermore, the PDP announced Hon. Okeke Francis Chukwudi as Ezenwafor’s running mate.

The party also confirmed the submission of all relevant credentials and documents in line with electoral guidelines, including Forms EC-9, EC-9B, and EC-13B for both candidates.

“We hereby forward the Credentials/Particulars: Forms EC-9, EC-9B and EC-13B, of both the candidate and running mate,” the letter added.

The PDP urged the commission to acknowledge the submission and assured its commitment to transparency and due process.

As the countdown to the Anambra governorship election begins, all eyes will be on the PDP’s campaign and how the Ezenwafor–Chukwudi ticket plans to challenge incumbents and rivals in what promises to be a closely watched electoral race.
