Ritualist Native Doctor 'E de Play, E de Show' Arrested by Immigration While Fleeing Nigeria

Levi Obieze, a flamboyant native doctor from Enugu State, also known as “E de play, e de show”, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) while attempting to flee the country on a motorcycle.

The arrest was confirmed on Thursday by the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, in a statement by NIS PRO Akinsola Akinlabi.

“Obieze was caught by vigilant men of the Lagos Border Patrol Command at Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme Road,” the statement read.

Gruesome Crime Unfolds in Isiagu Community

Obieze, a native of Umuojor village in Isiagu, Enugu, has been at the centre of a chilling case involving:

• The kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl

• The discovery of two decomposing bodies of pregnant women in his soakaway pits

How It All Started

According to eyewitness reports:

• The girl was abducted while walking with her father to the farm.

• Two men on a bike tricked the father, asking for his cutlass to “fix” their motorcycle.

• While distracted, they grabbed the girl and fled.

“She was taken as her father tried to help them. The incident sparked panic,” a source told The Guardian.

Rescue and Grisly Discovery

Local vigilantes and police launched a search after the girl’s father raised the alarm.

• Residents heard screams from bushes near Obieze’s compound.

• The native doctor tried to block entry but was overpowered.

• The girl was rescued, but shock followed as two corpses of pregnant women were found in separate soakaway pits within his premises.

In a video that went viral, furious villagers dragged and paraded Obieze naked, denouncing his crimes.

Arrested While Fleeing with His Wives

Obieze, known for spraying money at parties and his flashy lifestyle, fled the community with his four wives, only to be arrested days later trying to escape on a motorcycle.

“His identity was confirmed via a NIMC enrollment slip in his pocket,” said Akinlabi.

During preliminary interrogation, Obieze confessed to the crimes.

Next Steps

The Nigeria Immigration Service is working with the Nigeria Police to transfer the suspect and launch deeper investigations.

“This arrest highlights our resolve to secure our borders and stop the flight of criminal suspects,” the NIS added.
