Ruben Amorim Urges United to Target Chelsea Win Ahead of Europa League Final

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has dismissed the idea of resting key players ahead of the Europa League final, insisting that a Premier League victory over Chelsea on Friday would be the best form of preparation. Despite a dismal league campaign, Amorim is focused on momentum, urging his squad to treat the Chelsea clash as critical. United currently sit 16th, narrowly above the relegation zone, while Chelsea are fighting for a top-five finish to secure Champions League qualification.

Ruben Amorim Urges United to Target Chelsea Win Ahead of Europa League Final

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has made it clear that his side will go all out against Chelsea on Friday night, insisting that winning and building form is more important than resting players before the Europa League final.

Despite enduring their worst Premier League season, sitting 16th on the table, United’s season could still end on a high. A Europa League triumph would not only secure a major trophy but also grant them passage into next season’s Champions League.

“We cannot spend eight or nine days without a game. That is a bad thing for the final,” Amorim said ahead of the Stamford Bridge showdown.

“The best way is to face the game like we should face the game — it is to win the game.”

Amorim emphasized that whether a player features against Chelsea or not won’t influence their chances of starting in the final.

“The players have to understand that if you play or don’t play against Chelsea, it means nothing to the final. That is important.”

 United’s Squad Concerns
United are likely to be without several defenders for the Chelsea clash, and possibly for the final:

Diogo Dalot

Matthijs de Ligt

Leny Yoro

Their absences will be a major concern as Amorim weighs his defensive options.

Chelsea’s High Stakes
Chelsea, on the other hand, must win to keep their Champions League qualification hopes alive, targeting a top-five finish in the Premier League. The match at Stamford Bridge is crucial for the Blues, who are looking to capitalize on United’s poor form.
