A user with the handle @Yakbel on X (formerly Twitter) had warned the Afrobeat star to distance himself from the Igbo community, claiming they would eventually betray him.
“Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest,” the post read. “Yoruba boy dey frolick with Ibos in 2025, they want your head and everything you have to belong to them…”
But Davido, known for promoting unity and cultural pride through his music, replied swiftly and firmly:
“Lol, I AM IGBO by blood.”
